But in this article, we are going to cover What is On-Page SEO and how we can do On-Page SEO on our website. If we say in simple language, all the optimization that we do inside our web page it is considered as On-Page SEO.

In On-Page SEO you don’t need to depend on anyone like in off-page SEO you have to depend on other websites for backlinks. But in On-Page you have all the control and can optimize your web page content, structure, URL, images, and everything.

How to Do On-page SEO?

There are so many factors that affect when you do On-page SEO but there are some very important factors you should take care of whenever you do On-page. These Factors are the Following:

how to do on page seo

Title of Your Page

The first thing you want to make sure that you have the keyword that you want to rank for and the second thing you need to care about is that the keyword you want to rank should be in your title. And if it is possible try to use your keyword at the beginning of the title.

URL Structure

URL structure is one of the major factors in SEO. URL structure must be based on the title of your page. You need to keep your URL structure as short as you can. Try to add your keyword that you want to rank for in the URL/Permalink. Basically, it makes your URL structure easy to understand and it’s easier for people to read it.

Content Optimization

You must have heard that “Content is King”. When you are doing SEO the most important factor that decides your page will rank or not is the content of your page. If your content quality is not good that whatever you do in SEO is a waste of time. So optimizing Content is a very crucial part of SEO.

It’s really important to make sure that you have that keyword you want to rank at least once or twice in the first hundred words.

Because that’s a really clear way to let the reader know that you’ve clicked on the right thing. This is about what you want to learn about and it also tells Google right upfront what our article is about. You should try to add your main keyword in your content a minimum of 3-5 times. But don’t try to add your keywords forcefully. They should be logically implemented in your content. If you do this illogically then your site can be penalized by Google. Don’t add the same keyword again and again instead of this you should use variations of your keywords like you can add synonyms of your keyword.

Subheading Tags

On your page, the distribution of subheading tags (H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6) is also a key factor in SEO ranking. In a WordPress website, the H1 tag is by default given to the Title of your page.

But you have to use H2 tags in other important headings of your page. When we talk about H3 tags you need to use these tags in the subheadings of your H2 tags. H1, H2, H3 tags are the most important tags, you don’t need to use remaining tags like H4, H5, H6.

One more important thing you should try is that if it is possible add your keywords in subheadings.

Website Speed

It is a common thing to understand that if your website loading time is slow then Google will definitely not rank your page. Website speed mainly depends on your hosting. If your hosting is not good then your website will definitely take some extra time to load.

There are some plugins that can help in reducing the loading time of your website like- Wp rocket, W3 Total cache, PageSpeed Ninja, etc.

Image Optimization

Images also rank in Google, so optimizing images is also very crucial for your SEO. There are mainly three factors you have to look for when you optimize your images.

One thing whenever you upload any image on your site you have to change its file name according to your keyword. And after uploading an image the second thing you need to do is write the alt tag for that image and in the alt tag, you add your focus keyphrase.

And the last thing you need to do is compress your images because if you upload images with huge sizes like in 1 MB, 2MB, or 500KB then your website speed will slow down. So image compression is very important in SEO.

There are many plugins available with the help of you can reduce your image size. The best in the market is the short pixel image optimizer plugin.

Meta Description

According to Google’s new updates, the meta description is not a part of SEO directly. But meta description is very useful to attract the users. If you write an attractive and informational description then there are more chances that users click on your website and don’t forget to include the keyword in the description.

Internal Linking

Internal linking is to link pages and posts within your own website. It helps Google in crawling and indexing other pages link within your content and internal links also improve the user experience and reduce the bounce rate of your web page.

Outbound Linking

An outbound link is a link that goes outside from our website to someone else’s website. When giving an outbound link, keep in mind that the page on which you are linking an anchor text should be relevant and its page authority must be good, otherwise it may affect our website ranking. It is also a very essential factor in SEO.
